Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives in the Curriculum" 

NESA Accreditation:

 

Completing "Reflections and Ripples- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives in the Curriculum" will contribute 5 hours of NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Accredited PD in the priority area of Aboriginal education and supporting Aboriginal students/children addressing Standard Descriptor(s) 1.4.2 and 2.4.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.

This course is designed to inspire and invigorate your practice, as we explore meaningful ways to integrate First Nations perspectives into the curriculum.

​

  • Practical strategies to overcome your perceived blocks in integrating First Nations education;

  • research based, authentic, practical activities for meaningful learning;

  • A focus on moving past stereotypical, ‘tick a box’ lessons for deeper more powerful learning!!

'Ripples and Reflections' provides a platform for educators to reflect on the ripples of change that can be made when authentic and meaningful approaches to First Nations perspectives are delivered in the classroom.

 

This workshop is suitable for Early Childhood, Primary and Secondary educators. Content and curriculum examples will be differentiated across the Early Years and K-10 curriculum.
